We're looking for a Product Manager to develop our web front end product for media and sports businesses, with the goal to deliver outstanding and engaging experiences. You will help to further develop the vision for the product driven by the insights from user data, research and speaking to customersThis will lead you to a deep understanding of the needs of our customers and their end users.

Monterosa is the leading Real-time Engagement (RTE) platform powering the world's biggest entertainment and sports properties. We combine live participation such as voting with gamification, interactive video and eCommerce, connecting millions of fans to their favourite brands.

Monterosa / Interaction Cloud is the SaaS platform adopted by ITV, Sky, ViacomCBS, EA Sports, The British Olympic Association, The Jockey Club, and Liverpool FC powering and monetising fan engagement around key properties such as Love Island, The Grand National, The Premier League and Olympics.

Included in the Tech Nation’s prestigious 2020 Future Fifty cohort, Monterosa achieved over 20 #1 apps, has been awarded a BAFTA and is listed at #39 in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 2020.

What you'll be doing

  • Acting as the focal point for development of web front end products within Monterosa, helping our customers increase the engagement of their audiences

  • Monitor customer satisfaction with the Monterosa experience and work with data and insight tools to understand customer needs  

  • Build a roadmap for the web front end experiences product based on evidence and to prioritise by projecting impacts and understanding the effort to deliver

  •  Manage the backlog and requirements for an agile development team

  • Evangelise the product by running compelling demonstrations explaining capabilities and features

    To communicate requirements to engineering teams clearly and succinctly

  • To work with engineering teams to understand the most effective way to realise improvements breaking problems down into small iterative steps 

  • To work closely with UX and design to develop experiences that deepen customer engagement

  • To act as a focal point for communication on product features including running demonstrations for the sales team and producers

  • To develop early prototypes and demos that show how the product could move forwards and enable feedback from the market and stakeholders

  • To understand the commercial context and ensure that the product creates value for customers and generates value for Monterosa.

  • To study the competitive marketplace ensure that our products compete successfully in a fast-moving market 

About you 

You will be responsible for managing products and features from concept to delivery, working closely with the engineering team and the UX and design team.You will also gain perspectives and support from a stakeholder group internally and from our clients who have considerable experience in the media.

You will product manage an agile team delivering new digital products from start to finish. You will also need to communicate the vision with absolute clarity and use your determination and energy to lead the team to deliver this vision in the longer term.

In the short term you will need to use best practice lean and agile techniques to forge solutions to customer needs within known constraints.

To succeed in this role, you should be customer obsessed and detail oriented with an appetite for understanding technology and the components that make up fantastic experiences. You need to be confident and creative and focused on delivering value to customers and keen to measure, learn and improve. 

What does it take?

  • Minimum of 3 years as a Product Manager, with a track record of successful software delivery

  • Previous experience delivering successful products and being acutely aware of what made them a success

  •  Demonstrated ability to frame product problems and opportunities in light of the user needs and technical and design constraints

  • Experience working to optimise products based on qualitative or quantitative insights 

  • Ability to collate and analyse data from multiple sources and build insights that shape your product work

  • Creative and innovative, you're an idea generator, you do your own research, and you thrive when given the freedom to run your product

  • Communication, you'll be able to convey your needs clearly to engineering, help reduce ambiguity, and take pride in your written specifications

  • Technical, you'll have some hard technical skills, so that when engineers bring an idea or a problem to your attention, you won’t struggle to understand the implications

  • Commercial awareness, you'll know how to work with sales and marketing, and how to make a successful launch

  • To have worked at speed, to high quality and with excellent collaboration

  • Calm, methodical and resilient, you've been in some scrapes, planned your way out and can show others how to do the same

  • Technical understanding - a development background or BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field is a plus!
